To Your name Be the Glory
(Psalm 135:1–21)

לֹ֤א (Not) לָ֥נוּ (to us) יְהוָ֗ה (O YHWH), לֹ֫א (not) לָ֥נוּ (to us),

כִּֽי־ (but) לְ֭שִׁמְךָ (to Your name) תֵּ֣ן (give) כָּב֑וֹד (glory),

עַל־ (because of) חַ֝סְדְּךָ֗ (Your loving devotion),

עַל־ (because of) אֲמִתֶּֽךָ׃ (Your faithfulness).

2  לָ֭מָּה (Why) יֹאמְר֣וּ (should say) הַגּוֹיִ֑ם (the nations),

אַיֵּה־ (Where) נָ֝֗א (now) אֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃ (is their God)?

3  וֵֽאלֹהֵ֥ינוּ (And our God is) בַשָּׁמָ֑יִם (in the heavens);

כֹּ֭ל (all) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) חָפֵ֣ץ (he has pleased) עָשָֽׂה׃ (He has done).

4  עֲ‍ֽ֭צַבֵּיהֶם (Their idols) כֶּ֣סֶף (are silver) וְזָהָ֑ב (and gold),

מַ֝עֲשֵׂ֗ה (the work) יְדֵ֣י (of the hands) אָדָֽם׃ (of man).

5  פֶּֽה־ (A mouth) לָ֭הֶם (is unto them), וְלֹ֣א (and not) יְדַבֵּ֑רוּ (do they speak);

עֵינַ֥יִם (eyes) לָ֝הֶ֗ם (are unto them), וְלֹ֣א (and not) יִרְאֽוּ׃ (do they see);

6  אָזְנַ֣יִם (ears) לָ֭הֶם (are unto them), וְלֹ֣א (and not) יִשְׁמָ֑עוּ (do they hear);

אַ֥ף (noses) לָ֝הֶ֗ם (are unto them), וְלֹ֣א (and not) יְרִיחֽוּן׃ (do they smell);

7  יְדֵיהֶ֤ם׀ (they have hands), וְלֹ֬א (and not) יְמִישׁ֗וּן (do they feel);

רַ֭גְלֵיהֶם (they have feet), וְלֹ֣א (and not) יְהַלֵּ֑כוּ (do they walk),

לֹֽא־ (and not) יֶ֝הְגּ֗וּ (do they utter) בִּגְרוֹנָֽם׃ (by their throat).

8  כְּ֭מוֹהֶם (Like them) יִהְי֣וּ (shall be) עֹשֵׂיהֶ֑ם (those making them),

כֹּ֭ל (everyone) אֲשֶׁר־ (who) בֹּטֵ֣חַ (is trusting) בָּהֶֽם׃ (in them).

9  יִ֭שְׂרָאֵל (O Israel), בְּטַ֣ח (trust) בַּיהוָ֑ה (in YHWH);

עֶזְרָ֖ם (their help) וּמָגִנָּ֣ם (and their shield) הֽוּא׃ (He is).

10  בֵּ֣ית (O House) אַ֭הֲרֹן (of Aaron), בִּטְח֣וּ (trust) בַיהוָ֑ה (in YHWH);

עֶזְרָ֖ם (their help) וּמָגִנָּ֣ם (and their shield) הֽוּא׃ (He is).

11  יִרְאֵ֣י (O fearers) יְ֭הוָה (of YHWH), בִּטְח֣וּ (trust) בַיהוָ֑ה (in YHWH);

עֶזְרָ֖ם (their help) וּמָגִנָּ֣ם (and their shield) הֽוּא׃ (He is).

12  יְהוָה֮ (YHWH) זְכָרָ֪נוּ (has remembered us);

יְבָ֫רֵ֥ךְ (He will bless);

יְ֭בָרֵךְ (He will bless) אֶת־ (-) בֵּ֣ית (the house) יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל (of Israel);

יְ֝בָרֵ֗ךְ (He will bless) אֶת־ (-) בֵּ֥ית (the house) אַהֲרֹֽן׃ (of Aaron).

13  יְ֭בָרֵךְ (He will bless) יִרְאֵ֣י (those fearing) יְהוָ֑ה (YHWH),

הַ֝קְּטַנִּ֗ים (the small) עִם־ (with) הַגְּדֹלִֽים׃ (the great).

14  יֹסֵ֣ף (Adds) יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) עֲלֵיכֶ֑ם (to you⁺)—

עֲ֝לֵיכֶ֗ם (to you⁺) וְעַל־ (and to) בְּנֵיכֶֽם׃ (your⁺ sons).

15  בְּרוּכִ֣ים (Be blessed) אַ֭תֶּם (you⁺) לַיהוָ֑ה (by YHWH)

עֹ֝שֵׂ֗ה (maker) שָׁמַ֥יִם (of the heavens) וָאָֽרֶץ׃ (and the earth).

16  הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם (The heavens of)— שָׁ֭מַיִם (the heavens) לַיהוָ֑ה (are unto YHWH),

וְ֝הָאָ֗רֶץ (and the earth) נָתַ֥ן (He has given) לִבְנֵי־ (to the sons) אָדָֽם׃ (of man).

17  לֹ֣א (Not) הַ֭מֵּתִים (the dead) יְהַֽלְלוּ־ (do praise) יָ֑הּ (YAH),

וְ֝לֹ֗א (and not) כָּל־ (any of) יֹרְדֵ֥י (those going down) דוּמָֽה׃ (into silence).

18  וַאֲנַ֤חְנוּ׀ (And we) נְבָ֘רֵ֤ךְ (will bless) יָ֗הּ (YAH),

מֵֽעַתָּ֥ה (from now) וְעַד־ (and even to) עוֹלָ֗ם (forever).

הַֽלְלוּ־ (Hallelu) יָֽהּ׃ (YAH).
