The Supremacy of the Son 1 5For to which of the angels did He ever say, "Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee?" and again, "I will be to Him a Father, and He shall be to me a Son?" 6and when He again introduceth the First-born into the world, he saith, "And let all the angels of God worship Him." 7And as to the angels He saith, "Who maketh his angels spirits and his ministers a flame of fire:" 8but to the Son, "Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; the sceptre of thy kingdom is a sceptre of righteousness: 9thou lovest righteousness and hatest iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thine associates." 10And in another place, "Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast founded the earth, and the heavens are the works of thy hands: 11they shall perish, but thou remainest; and they shall all grow old as a garment, 12and as a mantle wilt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed; but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail." 13But to which of the angels hath He ever said, "Sit thou at my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?" 14Are they not all ministring spirits, sent forth to attend on those who shall be heirs of salvation?
