In the New Testament, the call for unity among believers is emphasized repeatedly. Jesus prayed for the unity of His followers, asking that they may be one as He and the Father are one (John 17:21). The Apostle Paul frequently addressed the theme of unity in his epistles. Vigilance

Vigilance is a biblical principle that calls for constant watchfulness and readiness, particularly in the spiritual life of believers. The Bible frequently warns against spiritual complacency and encourages believers to remain alert to the dangers of sin, false teachings, and the schemes of the devil.

Jesus Himself instructed His disciples to be vigilant, especially concerning His return. In Matthew 24:42, He says, "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come." This call to vigilance is a reminder of the unpredictable nature of Christ's second coming and the need for continual preparedness.

The Apostle Peter also emphasizes vigilance in the face of spiritual adversaries. In 1 Peter 5:8, he warns, "Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." This imagery underscores the constant threat posed by the devil and the necessity for believers to remain spiritually alert and resistant.

Paul, in his letters, often combines the call for vigilance with prayer. In Colossians 4:2, he writes, "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." In 2 Timothy 4:3-5, Paul warns Timothy of a time when people will not endure sound doctrine and urges him to "be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry."
