The account of King Saul in 1 Samuel 15 illustrates the importance of obedience over ritual sacrifice. In Romans 6:16 , he writes, "Do you not know that when you offer yourselves as obedient slaves, you are slaves to the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin leading to death, or to obedience leading to righteousness?" Wisdom

Wisdom in the Bible is portrayed as a divine attribute and a gift from God that enables individuals to live righteously and make godly decisions. It is more than mere knowledge or intelligence; it is the application of God's truth to life.

The Book of Proverbs is a primary source of biblical wisdom literature. Proverbs 9:10 declares, "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." This verse underscores that true wisdom starts with a reverent relationship with God. Wisdom is personified in Proverbs as calling out to people, urging them to follow the path of righteousness and avoid folly (Proverbs 8:1-11).

King Solomon is renowned for his wisdom, which he received from God. In 1 Kings 3:9 , Solomon prays, "Give Your servant, therefore, an understanding heart to judge Your people and to discern between good and evil." God grants his request, and Solomon's wisdom becomes legendary, attracting leaders from other nations to seek his counsel (1 Kings 4:29-34).

In the New Testament, wisdom is associated with the teachings of Jesus Christ. Colossians 2:3 states, "In Him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Jesus' parables and teachings provide profound insights into the kingdom of God and the nature of true wisdom.

James 1:5 encourages believers to seek wisdom from God: "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him." This promise assures Christians that God is willing to impart wisdom to those who earnestly seek it.

Wisdom is also linked to righteous living and moral integrity. James 3:17 describes the characteristics of heavenly wisdom: "But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peace-loving, gentle, accommodating, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and sincere." This wisdom contrasts with earthly wisdom, which is often self-centered and divisive.
