On the return from the captivity 1I love the LORD, because He has heard my voice and my pleas. 2Because He has opened His ear to me, I will call upon Him as long as I live. 3The cords of death entangled me, and the fear of the grave gripped me; I was overcome with trouble and sorrow. 4Then I called upon the name of the LORD: “O LORD, I beg You, deliver my soul.” 5The LORD is gracious and righteous; and so merciful! 6The LORD protects the naÏve; when I was deep in trouble, He helped me. 7Return to your rest, O my soul; for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you. 8For He has rescued me from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling, 9So that I may walk before the LORD in the land of the living. 10I trusted in the LORD, when I said, “I am greatly afflicted”: 11In my panic, I spoke rashly and said “All men are liars.” 12What can I offer to the LORD in return for all His blessings toward me? 13I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD. 14I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all His people. 15Precious in the eyes of the LORD is the death of His faithful servants. 16O LORD, truly I am Your servant; I am Your servant, and the son of Your handmaid; You have freed me from my bonds. 17I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD. 18I will fulfill my vows to the LORD now in the presence of all His people, 19In the courts of the LORD's house, in the heart of Jerusalem.
