1And Miriam and Aaron criticized Moses because he had married a woman of Cush (a Cushite - an Ethiopian). 2And they said, “Has the LORD only spoken by Moses? Has He not spoken through us, also?” And the LORD heard this. 3(Now the man Moses was very meek, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.) 4And the LORD immediately called Moses, Aaron, and Miriam: “Come out, you three, to the Tabernacle of meeting.” And the three came out. 5And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the entrance of the Tabernacle, and summoned Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth. 6And He said, “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, will make Myself known to him in a vision, and will speak to him in a dream. 7But this is not true of My servant Moses, who is most faithful among all My people. 8With him I speak face to face, plainly, and not in riddles; and he has beheld the form of the LORD. Why, then, were you not afraid to criticize My servant Moses?” 9And the anger of the LORD was aroused against them; and He departed. 10Then the cloud lifted from over the Tabernacle; and, suddenly, Miriam’s skin became leprous - white as snow: and Aaron looked at Miriam, and saw that she was leprous. 11And Aaron said to Moses, “Alas, my lord, I beg you, do not lay this sin, that we have so foolishly committed, upon us. 12Do not let her be as one that is dead, like one whose flesh is half consumed when he is born.” 13And Moses cried to the LORD, “Please, O God, I beg You, heal her now.” 14And the LORD replied to Moses, ”If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? Let her be shut out from the camp for seven days, and after that let her be restored again.” 15And Miriam was isolated from the camp for seven days: and the people did not resume their journey until Miriam was again healed. 16And after that, the people moved from Hazeroth, and camped in the wilderness of Paran.
