1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3And God said, “Let there be light;” and there was light. 4And God saw that the light was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5And God called the light “Day”, and the darkness He called “Night.” And the evening and the morning comprised the first day.

6And God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters, to separate the waters of the heavens from the waters of the earth.” 7And God made the expanse, by which He separated the waters of the earth from the waters above (the heavens); and it was so. 8And God called the expanse “Heaven.” And the evening and the morning comprised the second day.

9And God said, “Let the waters below the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let dry ground appear;” and it was so. 10And God called the dry ground “land”; and the gathering of the waters He called “seas”; and God saw that it was good. 11And God said, “Let the earth produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants, and trees bearing fruit that contains seeds, each after its kind upon the earth;” and it was so. 12And the earth brought forth vegetation: plants bearing seed after its kind; and trees yielding seed-bearing fruit, each after its own kind; and God saw that it was good. 13And the evening and the morning comprised the third day.

14And God said, “Let there be lights in the sky to divide the day from night; and let them serve as signs for the seasons, days, and years. 15And let these lights in the sky shed their light upon the earth;” and it was so. 16And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He also made the stars. 17And God set these lights in the sky to shed light upon the earth, 18To prevail over the day and the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. 19And the evening and the morning comprised the fourth day.

20And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and birds that can fly above the earth in the open sky.” 21And God created great sea creatures, and every living creature that moves within the sea, and they brought forth abundant offspring, as did every winged bird - each after their kind. And God saw that it was good. 22And God blessed them, and said, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the seas, and let birds multiply in the earth.” 23And the evening and the morning comprised the fifth day.

24And God said, “Let the earth bring forth land creatures after their kind - cattle, creeping things, and animals of the earth after their kind;” and it was so. 25And God made the wild animals of the earth, each after its kind, and cattle after their kind, and the creatures that creep along the ground, each after its kind: and God saw that it was good. 26And God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the wild animals, cattle and everything that scurries and creeps over the entire earth.” 27So God created mankind in His Own image; He created them, male and female, in the image of God. 28And God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful, and multiply; fill the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over all the animals that move along the ground.” 29And God said, “Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the earth, and every tree, yielding fruit with its seed within it; it shall be food for you. 30And I have given every green plant and herb as food for all the creatures of the earth - every animal, bird of the air, and that creep upon the earth – everything in which there is life.” And it was so. 31And God saw everything that He had made; and it was very good. And the evening and the morning made up the sixth day.
