8 A vine from Egypt You pulled out; You drove out the nations and planted her.

9 You cleared before her face and let her root take root, and she filled the land.

10 The hills were covered with her shade, and the mighty cedars with her branches.

11 She sent out her branches to the Sea, and her shoots to the River.

12 Why have You broken down her walls, and all passing by the way pluck her fruit?

13 The boar from the forest tears at her, and the wild beast of the field feeds on her.

14 O God of Hosts, return, we pray! Look down from the heavens and see, and attend to this vine,

15 and the root that Your right hand has planted, and the son You have made strong for Yourself,
