1 For the one directing. Of the sons of Korah. A Maskil. O God, with our ears we have heard; our fathers have recounted to us the work You did in their days, in the days of old. 2 You, with Your hand, dispossessed the nations, and You planted them; You afflicted the peoples and sent them forth. 3 For they did not gain possession of the land by their sword, and their arm did not bring salvation to them; but it was Your right hand, and Your arm, and the light of Your face, because You delighted in them. 4 You are my King, O God; Command deliverances for Jacob. 5 Through You we push back our adversaries; by Your name we trample those rising against us. 6 For not in my bow do I trust, and my sword will not save me. 7 For You have saved us from our adversaries, and those hating us, You have put to shame.
