For Your arrows descend into me, and Your hand comes down on me.

No soundness is in my flesh before the face of Your anger; no peace is in my bones before the face of my sin.

For my iniquities have passed over my head; like a heavy burden, they are heavy for me.

My wounds are foul and festering, before the face of my foolishness.

I am bent, I am bowed down even to excess; all the day I go about mourning.

For my loins are full of burning, and there is no soundness in my flesh.

I am numb and crushed, even to excess; I roar from the groaning of my heart.

O Lord, all my desire is before You, and my groaning is not hidden from You.

My heart pounds, my strength has forsaken me, and the light of my eyes—even they are not with me.

My beloved and my friends stand away from my plague; my neighbors stand far off.

And those seeking my soul lay snares, and those searching out my harm speak; they ponder destruction and treachery all the day.

And I am like a deaf one who does not hear and like a mute one who does not open his mouth.

And I am like a man who is not hearing, and in his mouth are no rebukes,

because for You, O YHWH, I have waited; You will answer, O Lord my God.

For I said, “Lest they rejoice over me; in the slipping of my foot they magnify themselves against me.”

For I am ready to fall, and my sorrow is before me continually.

For I declare my iniquity; I am anxious over my sin.

And my enemies without cause are many, and those hating me without cause have been multiplied.

And those repaying evil for good, they oppose me, because of my pursuing good.

Do not forsake me, O YHWH; O my God, do not be far from me!

Hurry to help me, O Lord, my salvation.
