1 AND when they drew nigh to Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage to the mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, 2 saying to them, Go into the village, which is opposite you, and immediately you will find an ass tied, and a foal with her; loose and bring them to me. 3 And if any man say aught to you, ye shall tell them, That the Lord hath need of them, and immediately he will send them. 4 Now this was entirely done, that what was spoken by the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, 5 ?Tell the daughter of Sion, Lo! thy King cometh to thee, meek, and sitting on an ass, even on a foal the ass's colt.? 6 Then the disciples going, and doing as Jesus had commanded them, 7 brought the ass and her foal, and they spread over them their garments, and seated him upon them. 8 And a vast multitude spread their garments on the road, and others cut down branches from the trees, and strewed them on the road: 9 and the multitudes who went before, and who followed after, cried, saying, Hosanna, to the son of David; blessed is he who cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest. 10 And when he was entered into Jerusalem, the whole city was in commotion, saying, Who is this?
