22 Some time after, while they were in Galilee, Jesus said to them, the son of man will be betrayed into the hands of men: 23 they will kill him, but the third day he shall be raised again, at which they were exceeding sorry. 24 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute for the temple came to Peter, and said, does not your master pay tribute? 25 he said, yes, and when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, what think you Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of others? 26 Peter said, of others. Jesus answered, then are the children free. 27 however, lest we should give offence, go you to the sea, throw in a book, and take the first fish that strikes: then open its jaws, and you will find a piece of money: that take, and give it to them for me and thee.
