49 While He is yet speaking, there comes one from the ruler of the synagogue, saying, "Your daughter has died; trouble not the Teacher." 50 But Jesus, hearing it , answered him, "Fear not; only believe; and she shall be made whole!" 51 And, coming into the house, He permitted no one to enter with Him, except Peter, and James, and John, and the father of the maiden, and her mother. 52 And they were all weeping, and bewailing her; but He said, "Weep not; for she did not die, but is sleeping." 53 And they were deriding Him, knowing that she died. 54 But He, taking her by the hand, called, saying, "Maiden, arise." 55 And her spirit returned to her, and she rose up instantly; and He commanded that something should be given to her to eat. 56 And her parents were astonished. But He charged them to tell no one what had taken place. Luke 8:49-56, Worrell New Testament. Public domain.
