31 Then He went down to Capernaum (village of comfort), a town in Galilee (circuit), and on the Sabbath He began to teach {didaskōn} the people. 32 They were astonished at His teaching {didachē}, because His message had authority. 33 In the synagogue there was a man possessed by the spirit {pneuma} of an unclean (impure) demon. He cried out in a loud voice, 34 “Ha! What do You want with us, Jesus (YHWH saves) of Nazareth (branch)? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God {Theou}! 35 But Jesus (YHWH saves) rebuked the demon. “Be silent! He said. “Come out of him! At this, the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without harming him. 36 All the people were overcome with amazement and asked one another, “What is this message? With authority and power {dynamei} He commands the unclean (impure) spirits {pneumasin}, and they come out! 37 And the news about Jesus spread throughout the surrounding region.
