Isaiah 11:1-9 ▼

1 A branch there will come forth from the stump of Jesse, and a fresh shoot from his roots will bear fruit.

2 And will rest upon Him the Spirit of YHWH, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and fear of YHWH.

3 And His delight is in the fear of YHWH, and by the sight of His eyes He will not judge, and not by the hearing of his ears He will decide.

4 And He will judge the lowly with righteousness, and He will decide with straightness for the poor of the earth; and He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.

5 And righteousness will be the girdle of His waist, and faithfulness the girdle of His loins.

6 And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together, and a little child will lead them.

7 And the cow and the bear will graze; their young will lie down together, and the lion like the ox will eat straw.

8 And the suckling will play over the hole of a cobra, and over the den of a viper the one being weaned will stretch out his hand.

9 They will not harm and they will not destroy in all the mountain of My holiness; for the earth will be full of the knowledge of YHWH, as the waters are covering the sea.
