And it came to pass when mankind began to multiply on the face of the ground and daughters were born to them,

that the sons of God saw the daughters of mankind, and they were good. And they took for themselves wives from all that they chose.

And YHWH said, “My Spirit shall not strive with mankind forever, for indeed he is flesh. And his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.”

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of mankind, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were from of old, men of the name.

And YHWH saw that the wickedness of mankind on the earth was great and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the day.

And YHWH regretted that He had made mankind on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.

And YHWH said, “I will wipe out mankind whom I have created from the face of the ground—from mankind to beast, to crawling thing, to the bird of the heavens—for I regret that I have made them!”

And Noah found favor in the eyes of YHWH.

These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generations; Noah walked with God.

And Noah begat three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

And the earth was corrupt before the face of God, and the earth was filled with violence.

And God saw the earth, and behold, it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.
