Par

AND Jacob heard the words of Laban's sons, saying, Jacob has taken away all that was our father's; and of that which was our father's has he acquired all of this wealth.

And Jacob saw that Laban's countenance toward him was not as it had been yesterday and the day before.

And the LORD said to Jacob, Return to the land of your fathers, and to your kindred; and I will be with you.

So Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field to his flock,

And said to them, I see that your father's countenance toward me is not as it has been yesterday and the day before; but the God of my father has been with me.

And you know that I have worked for your father with all my strength.

And yet your father has deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God has not permitted him to hurt me.

If he said thus, The speckled shall be your wages, then all the flock bore speckled; and if he said thus, The spotted shall be your wages; then all the flock bore spotted.

Thus God has selected some of your father's cattle, and given them to me.

And it came to pass at the time when the sheep conceive, I lifted up my eyes and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams that leaped upon the sheep were speckled, spotted, and striped.

And the angel of God said to me in a dream, Jacob; and I said, Here am I.

Then he said, Lift up now your eyes, and see; all the rams that leap upon the sheep are speckled, spotted, and ringstreaked; for I have seen all that Laban has done to you.
