11 And the angel of the LORD called to him from heaven and said. Abraham! Abraham! And he said, Here am I. 12 And he said to him, Do not lay your hand on the boy, neither shall you harm him; for now I know that you are a man who reveres God, seeing that you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me. 13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold a ram caught in a thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son. 14 And Abraham called the name of that place Mariah-nekhzey, that is, the LORD will provide, as it is said to this day on this mountain, The LORD shall provide. 15 And the angel of the LORD called to Abraham from heaven a second time 16 And said, I have sworn by myself, says the LORD, for because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son, from me, 17 I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is on the sea shore; and your descendants shall inherit the lands of their enemies; 18 And by your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed because you have obeyed my voice.
