And do thou speak what becomes sound doctrine: But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine. You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine.
The aged men to be sober, grave, of sound mind, sound in the faith, in love, in patience. Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness. Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.
The aged women likewise, becoming holy in a serene state of mind, not accusers, not slaves to much wine, teachers of good; Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.
That they render the young women discreet, to be lovers of the husband, lovers of the children, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children,
Of sound mind chaste, remaining at home, good subordinates to their own husbands, that the word of God be not defamed. to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
The younger men likewise beseech to be of sound mind. Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled. Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled.
Concerning all things hold thyself a type of good works: in doctrine, integrity, gravity, incorruptibility, Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness
The word sound, not to be condemned; that he from the opposite may be changed, having nothing bad to say of you. and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us. and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.
Servants to be subordinate to their own masters, to be pleasing in all things; not contradicting; Bondservants are to be submissive to their own masters in everything; they are to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them,
Not purloining, but showing all good faith; that they may adorn the doctrine of the Saviour our God in all things. not pilfering, but showing all good faith, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior. and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.
For the grace of God who saves, was manifested to all men, For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and eager worldly desires, we should live discreetly, and justly, and religiously, in the time now; training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,
Expecting the blessed hope, and appearance of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to himself a distinguished people, zealous of good works. who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
These things speak, and beseech, and reprove with all order. Let none despise thee. Declare these things; exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you. These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.
