“And to the Angel of the Church of Ephesus write: Thus says the One who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: ‘The words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands. “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands.
I know your works, and your hardship and patient endurance, and that you cannot stand those who are evil. And so, you have tested those who declare themselves to be Apostles and are not, and you have found them to be liars. “‘I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false. I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false.
And you have patient endurance for the sake of my name, and you have not fallen away. I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name’s sake, and you have not grown weary. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.
But I have this against you: that you have relinquished your first charity. But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first.
And so, call to mind the place from which you have fallen, and do penance, and do the first works. Otherwise, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.
But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. Yet this you have: you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. But you have this in your favor: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
Whoever has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. To him who prevails, I will give to eat from the Tree of Life, which is in the Paradise of my God. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.’ Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.
And to the Angel of the Church of Smyrna write: Thus says the First and the Last, he who was dead and now lives: “And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: ‘The words of the first and the last, who died and came to life. “To the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These are the words of him who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again.
I know your tribulation and your poverty, but you are rich, and that you are blasphemed by those who declare themselves to be Jews and are not, but who are a synagogue of Satan. “‘I know your tribulation and your poverty (but you are rich) and the slander of those who say that they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. I know your afflictions and your poverty—yet you are rich! I know about the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.
You should fear nothing amid those things which you will suffer. Behold, the devil will cast some of you into prison, so that you may be tested. And you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful even unto death, and I will give to you the crown of life. Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life. Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.
Whoever has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. Whoever will prevail, he shall not be harmed by the second death. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who conquers will not be hurt by the second death.’ Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death.
And to the Angel of the Church of Pergamus write: Thus says he who holds the sharp two-edged spear: “And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write: ‘The words of him who has the sharp two-edged sword. “To the angel of the church in Pergamum write: These are the words of him who has the sharp, double-edged sword.
I know where you dwell, where the seat of Satan is, and that you hold to my name and have not denied my faith, even in those days when Antipas was my faithful witness, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells. “‘I know where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. Yet you hold fast my name, and you did not deny my faith even in the days of Antipas my faithful witness, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. I know where you live—where Satan has his throne. Yet you remain true to my name. You did not renounce your faith in me, not even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was put to death in your city—where Satan lives.
But I have a few things against you. For you have, in that place, those who hold to the doctrine of Balaam, who instructed Balak to cast a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, to eat and to commit fornication. But I have a few things against you: you have some there who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, so that they might eat food sacrificed to idols and practice sexual immorality. Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality.
And you also have those who hold to the doctrine of the Nicolaitans. So also you have some who hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans. Likewise, you also have those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans.
So do penance to the same extent. If you do less, I will come to you quickly and I will fight against these ones with the sword of my mouth. Therefore repent. If not, I will come to you soon and war against them with the sword of my mouth. Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
Whoever has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. To him who prevails, I will give the hidden manna. And I will give to him a white emblem, and on the emblem, a new name has been written, which no one knows, except the one who receives it. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, with a new name written on the stone that no one knows except the one who receives it.’ Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.
And to the Angel of the Church of Thyatira write: Thus says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like shining brass. “And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write: ‘The words of the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and whose feet are like burnished bronze. “To the angel of the church in Thyatira write: These are the words of the Son of God, whose eyes are like blazing fire and whose feet are like burnished bronze.
I know your works, and your faith and charity, and your ministry and patient endurance, and that your more recent works are greater than the earlier ones. “‘I know your works, your love and faith and service and patient endurance, and that your latter works exceed the first. I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first.
But I have a few things against you. For you permit the woman Jezabel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants, to commit fornication and to eat the food of idolatry. But I have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols. Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols.
And I gave her a time, so that she might do penance, but she is not willing to repent from her fornication. I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality. I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling.
Behold, I will cast her onto a bed, and those who commit adultery with her shall be in a very great tribulation, unless they repent from their works. Behold, I will throw her onto a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her I will throw into great tribulation, unless they repent of her works, So I will cast her on a bed of suffering, and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her ways.
And I will put her sons to death, and all the Churches shall know that I am the one who examines temperaments and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works. But I say to you, and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches will know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you according to your works. I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.
and to the others who are at Thyatira: Whoever does not hold to this doctrine, and who has not ‘known the depths of Satan,’ as they say, I will not set any other weight upon you. But to the rest of you in Thyatira, who do not hold this teaching, who have not learned what some call the deep things of Satan, to you I say, I do not lay on you any other burden. Now I say to the rest of you in Thyatira, to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets, ‘I will not impose any other burden on you,
Even so, that which you have, hold on to it until I return. Only hold fast what you have until I come. except to hold on to what you have until I come.’
And whoever will prevail and will observe my works even unto the end, I will give to him authority over the nations. The one who conquers and who keeps my works until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations, To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations—
And he shall rule them with an iron rod, and they shall be broken like the earthenware of a potter. and he will rule them with a rod of iron, as when earthen pots are broken in pieces, even as I myself have received authority from my Father. that one ‘will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery’ —just as I have received authority from my Father.
The same I also have received from my Father. And I will give to him the morning star. And I will give him the morning star. I will also give that one the morning star.
Whoever has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.” He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’ Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
