3 And another sign was seen in heaven, and behold, a great fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his heads seven diadems. 9 And the great dragon was thrown out, the ancient serpent who is called the Devil and Satan, deceiving the whole world. He was thrown to the earth, and his angels were thrown with him. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ, because the accuser of our brothers was cast down, the one accusing them before our God day and night. And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; and they did not love their life unto death. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
12 Because of this, rejoice O heavens, and those dwelling in them! Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil came down to you⁺, having great fury, knowing that he has a short time.” Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!” Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.”
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast down to the earth, he pursued the woman who brought forth the male child. And when the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.
14 And the two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, so that she may fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished there a time, and times, and half a time, away from the face of the serpent. But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle so that she might fly from the serpent into the wilderness, to the place where she is to be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time. The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach.
15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a river after the woman, so that he might cause her to be carried away by the river. The serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, to sweep her away with a flood. Then from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent.
16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river that the dragon cast out of his mouth. But the earth came to the help of the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed the river that the dragon had poured from his mouth. But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.
17 And the dragon was angry over the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her seed, those keeping the commandments of God and having the testimony of Jesus. And he stood upon the sand of the sea. Then the dragon became furious with the woman and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. And he stood on the sand of the sea. Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.
