1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. O LORD, You have [at last] shown favor to Your land [of Canaan]; You have restored [from Babylon] the captives of Jacob (Israel). LORD, you were favorable to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob. For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm. You, LORD, showed favor to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob.
2 You have forgiven the wickedness of Your people; You have covered all their sin. Selah. You forgave the iniquity of your people; you covered all their sin. Selah You forgave the iniquity of your people and covered all their sins.
3 You have withdrawn all Your wrath, You have turned away from Your burning anger. You withdrew all your wrath; you turned from your hot anger. You set aside all your wrath and turned from your fierce anger.
4 Restore us, O God of our salvation, And cause Your indignation toward us to cease. Restore us again, O God of our salvation, and put away your indignation toward us! Restore us again, God our Savior, and put away your displeasure toward us.
5 Will You be angry with us forever? Will You prolong Your anger to all generations? Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger to all generations? Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger through all generations?
6 Will You not revive us and bring us to life again, That Your people may rejoice in You? Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?
7 Show us Your lovingkindness, O LORD, And grant us Your salvation. Show us your steadfast love, O LORD, and grant us your salvation. Show us your unfailing love, LORD, and grant us your salvation.
8 I will hear [with expectant hope] what God the LORD will say, For He will speak peace to His people, to His godly ones— But let them not turn again to folly. Let me hear what God the LORD will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints; but let them not turn back to folly. I will listen to what God the LORD says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants— but let them not turn to folly.
9 Surely His salvation is near to those who [reverently] fear Him [and obey Him with submissive wonder], That glory [the manifest presence of God] may dwell in our land. Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land. Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land.
10 Steadfast love and truth and faithfulness meet together; Righteousness and peace kiss each other. Steadfast love and faithfulness meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other. Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other.
11 Truth springs from the earth, And righteousness looks down from heaven. Faithfulness springs up from the ground, and righteousness looks down from the sky. Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven.
12 Indeed, the LORD will give what is good, And our land will yield its produce. Yes, the LORD will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase. The LORD will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest.
13 Righteousness will go before Him And will make His footsteps into a way [in which to walk]. Righteousness will go before him and make his footsteps a way. Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps.
