For the Chief Musician; set to Al-tashheth. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song. We give thanks unto thee, O God; we give thanks, for thy name is near: men tell of thy wondrous works. We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks, for your name is near. We recount your wondrous deeds. For the director of music. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” A psalm of Asaph. A song. We praise you, God, we praise you, for your Name is near; people tell of your wonderful deeds.
When I shall find the set time, I will judge uprightly. “At the set time that I appoint I will judge with equity. You say, “I choose the appointed time; it is I who judge with equity.
The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I have set up the pillars of it. Selah When the earth totters, and all its inhabitants, it is I who keep steady its pillars. Selah When the earth and all its people quake, it is I who hold its pillars firm.
I said unto the arrogant, Deal not arrogantly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn: I say to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horn; To the arrogant I say, ‘Boast no more,’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horns.
Lift not up your horn on high; speak not with a stiff neck. do not lift up your horn on high, or speak with haughty neck.’” Do not lift your horns against heaven; do not speak so defiantly.’”
For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the south, cometh lifting up. For not from the east or from the west and not from the wilderness comes lifting up, No one from the east or the west or from the desert can exalt themselves.
But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and lifteth up another. but it is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another. It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another.
For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine foameth; it is full of mixture, and he poureth out of the same: surely the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them. For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup with foaming wine, well mixed, and he pours out from it, and all the wicked of the earth shall drain it down to the dregs. In the hand of the LORD is a cup full of foaming wine mixed with spices; he pours it out, and all the wicked of the earth drink it down to its very dregs.
But I will declare for ever, I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. But I will declare it forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. As for me, I will declare this forever; I will sing praise to the God of Jacob,
All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up. All the horns of the wicked I will cut off, but the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up. who says, “I will cut off the horns of all the wicked, but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.”
