THE fool has said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and abominable in their iniquities; and there is none that does good. The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, doing abominable iniquity; there is none who does good. For the director of music. According to mahalath. A maskil of David. The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good.
God looked down from heaven upon the children of men to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. God looks down from heaven on the children of man to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. God looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.
Every one of them has gone astray; they are altogether become filthy; there is none that does good, no, not one. They have all fallen away; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one. Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.
These people no longer recognize evil; they have consumed my people like bread; they have no respect for God. Have those who work evil no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon God? Do all these evildoers know nothing? They devour my people as though eating bread; they never call on God.
There they feared where no fear was; for God has scattered the bones of hypocrites; they have been ashamed, because God has despised them. There they are, in great terror, where there is no terror! For God scatters the bones of him who encamps against you; you put them to shame, for God has rejected them. But there they are, overwhelmed with dread, where there was nothing to dread. God scattered the bones of those who attacked you; you put them to shame, for God despised them.
Who out of Zion will give salvation to Israel? When God brings back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice and Israel shall be glad. Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When God restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad. Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When God restores his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!
