[For the choir director; with stringed instruments; a psalm by David.] Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness. You have freed me from my troubles. Have pity on me, and hear my prayer! Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have given me relief when I was in distress. Be gracious to me and hear my prayer! For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm of David. Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer.
You important people, how long are you going to insult my honor? How long are you going to love what is empty and seek what is a lie? [Selah] O men, how long shall my honor be turned into shame? How long will you love vain words and seek after lies? Selah How long will you people turn my glory into shame? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods
Know that the LORD singles out godly people for himself. The LORD hears me when I call to him. But know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD hears when I call to him. Know that the LORD has set apart his faithful servant for himself; the LORD hears when I call to him.
Tremble and do not sin. Think about this on your bed and remain quiet. [Selah] Be angry, and do not sin; ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent. Selah Tremble and do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent.
Offer the sacrifices of righteousness by trusting the LORD. Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the LORD. Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the LORD.
Many are saying, |Who can show us anything good?| Let the light of your presence shine on us, O LORD. There are many who say, “Who will show us some good? Lift up the light of your face upon us, O LORD!” Many, LORD, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?” Let the light of your face shine on us.
You put more joy in my heart than when their grain and new wine increase. You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound. Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound.
I fall asleep in peace the moment I lie down because you alone, O LORD, enable me to live securely. In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety. In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.
