Sin whispers to the wicked, deep within their hearts. They have no fear of God at all. Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes. For the director of music. Of David the servant of the LORD. I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before their eyes.
In their blind conceit, they cannot see how wicked they really are. For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated. In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin.
Everything they say is crooked and deceitful. They refuse to act wisely or do good. The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit; he has ceased to act wisely and do good. The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good.
They lie awake at night, hatching sinful plots. Their actions are never good. They make no attempt to turn from evil. He plots trouble while on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not reject evil. Even on their beds they plot evil; they commit themselves to a sinful course and do not reject what is wrong.
Your unfailing love, O LORD, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the ocean depths. You care for people and animals alike, O LORD. Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgments are like the great deep; man and beast you save, O LORD. Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, LORD, preserve both people and animals.
How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings. How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
You feed them from the abundance of your own house, letting them drink from your river of delights. They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights.
For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.
Pour out your unfailing love on those who love you; give justice to those with honest hearts. Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you, and your righteousness to the upright of heart! Continue your love to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart.
Don’t let the proud trample me or the wicked push me around. Let not the foot of arrogance come upon me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away. May the foot of the proud not come against me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.
Look! Those who do evil have fallen! They are thrown down, never to rise again. There the evildoers lie fallen; they are thrust down, unable to rise. See how the evildoers lie fallen— thrown down, not able to rise!
