THE unjust conceives wickedness within his heart, for there is no fear of God before his eyes. Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes. For the director of music. Of David the servant of the LORD. I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before their eyes.
He is unwilling to see his sins forgiven, or to hate them. For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated. In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin.
The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit; he is unwilling to do good. The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit; he has ceased to act wisely and do good. The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good.
He devises mischief upon his bed; he walks in a way that is not good that he may do evil. He plots trouble while on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not reject evil. Even on their beds they plot evil; they commit themselves to a sinful course and do not reject what is wrong.
O LORD, thy mercy is in heaven; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the universe. Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.
Thy righteouness is like the mountain of God; thy judgments are like a great deep; O LORD, thou preservest man and beast. Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgments are like the great deep; man and beast you save, O LORD. Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, LORD, preserve both people and animals.
How abundant is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men take refuge under the shadow of thy wings. How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They shall flourish with the richness of thy house; and thou shalt give them to drink of the pleasant water of thy spring. They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights.
For with thee is the fountain of life; in thy light shall we see light. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.
O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee, and thy righteousness to the upright in heart. Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you, and your righteousness to the upright of heart! Continue your love to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart.
Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me. Let not the foot of arrogance come upon me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away. May the foot of the proud not come against me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.
For there the workers of iniquity will fall; they will be cast down, and will not be able to rise. There the evildoers lie fallen; they are thrust down, unable to rise. See how the evildoers lie fallen— thrown down, not able to rise!
