O LORD, how my oppressors are increased! Many are they that rise up against me. O LORD, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me; A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom. LORD, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me!
Many there are that say to my soul, You have no salvation in your God. many are saying of my soul, “There is no salvation for him in God.” Selah Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.”
But thou, O LORD, art my help and my glory, and the lifter up of my head. But you, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
I have cried to the LORD with my voice, and he has answered me from his holy mountain. I cried aloud to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah I call out to the LORD, and he answers me from his holy mountain.
I lay down and slept; and I awoke; for the LORD sustained me. I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the LORD sustained me. I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.
I will not be afraid of thousands of people that have surrounded me and set themselves against me. I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around. I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side.
Arise, O LORD my God, and save me; for thou hast smitten all my enemies upon their cheeks; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly. Arise, O LORD! Save me, O my God! For you strike all my enemies on the cheek; you break the teeth of the wicked. Arise, LORD! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked.
For salvation belongs to the LORD; and thy blessing is upon thy people. Salvation belongs to the LORD; your blessing be on your people! Selah From the LORD comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.
