A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. Jehovah, how are mine adversaries increased! Many are they that rise up against me. O LORD, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me; A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom. LORD, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me!
Many there are that say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. [Selah many are saying of my soul, “There is no salvation for him in God.” Selah Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.”
But thou, O Jehovah, art a shield about me; My glory and the lifter up of my head. But you, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
I cry unto Jehovah with my voice, And he answereth me out of his holy hill. [Selah I cried aloud to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah I call out to the LORD, and he answers me from his holy mountain.
I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for Jehovah sustaineth me. I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the LORD sustained me. I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.
I will not be afraid of ten thousands of the people That have set themselves against me round about. I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around. I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side.
Arise, O Jehovah; Save me, O my God: For thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; Thou hast broken the teeth of the wicked. Arise, O LORD! Save me, O my God! For you strike all my enemies on the cheek; you break the teeth of the wicked. Arise, LORD! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked.
Salvation belongeth unto Jehovah: Thy blessing be upon thy people. [Selah Salvation belongs to the LORD; your blessing be on your people! Selah From the LORD comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.
