1 For the music director; a psalm of David. May the LORD answer you when you are in trouble; may the God of Jacob make you secure! May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble! 2 May he send you help from his temple; from Zion may he give you support! May he send you help from the sanctuary and give you support from Zion! May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.
3 May he take notice of your offerings; may he accept your burnt sacrifice! (Selah) May he remember all your offerings and regard with favor your burnt sacrifices! Selah May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings.
4 May he grant your heart's desire; may he bring all your plans to pass! May he grant you your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans! May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
5 Then we will shout for joy over your victory; we will rejoice in the name of our God! May the LORD grant all your requests! May we shout for joy over your salvation, and in the name of our God set up our banners! May the LORD fulfill all your petitions! May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests.
6 Now I am sure that the LORD will deliver his chosen king; he will intervene for him from his holy heavenly temple, and display his mighty ability to deliver. Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with the saving might of his right hand. Now this I know: The LORD gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand.

8 They will fall down, but we will stand firm. They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.
