1 Praise ye Jah! For it is good to praise our God, For pleasant -- comely is praise. Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting. Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!
2 Building Jerusalem is Jehovah, The driven away of Israel He gathereth. The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the outcasts of Israel. The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel.
3 Who is giving healing to the broken of heart, And is binding up their griefs. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
4 Appointing the number of the stars, To all them He giveth names. He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names. He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.

7 Answer ye to Jehovah with thanksgiving, Sing ye to our God with a harp. Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make melody to our God on the lyre! Sing to the LORD with grateful praise; make music to our God on the harp.
8 Who is covering the heavens with clouds, Who is preparing for the earth rain, Who is causing grass to spring up on mountains, He covers the heavens with clouds; he prepares rain for the earth; he makes grass grow on the hills. He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills.
9 Giving to the beast its food, To the young of the ravens that call. He gives to the beasts their food, and to the young ravens that cry. He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call.
10 Not in the might of the horse doth He delight, Not in the legs of a man is He pleased. His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor his pleasure in the legs of a man, His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;
11 Jehovah is pleased with those fearing Him, With those waiting for His kindness. but the LORD takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love. the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.
12 Glorify, O Jerusalem, Jehovah, Praise thy God, O Zion. Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion! Extol the LORD, Jerusalem; praise your God, Zion.
13 For He did strengthen the bars of thy gates, He hath blessed thy sons in thy midst. For he strengthens the bars of your gates; he blesses your children within you. He strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your people within you.
14 Who is making thy border peace, With the fat of wheat He satisfieth Thee. He makes peace in your borders; he fills you with the finest of the wheat. He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.
15 Who is sending forth His saying on earth, Very speedily doth His word run. He sends out his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly. He sends his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly.
16 Who is giving snow like wool, Hoar-frost as ashes He scattereth. He gives snow like wool; he scatters frost like ashes. He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes.
17 Casting forth His ice like morsels, Before His cold who doth stand? He hurls down his crystals of ice like crumbs; who can stand before his cold? He hurls down his hail like pebbles. Who can withstand his icy blast?

20 He hath not done so to any nation, As to judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye Jah! He has not dealt thus with any other nation; they do not know his rules. Praise the LORD! He has done this for no other nation; they do not know his laws. Praise the LORD.
