1 Of David. I give You thanks with all my heart; before the gods I sing Your praises. I give you thanks, O LORD, with my whole heart; before the gods I sing your praise; <i>A Psalm</i> of David. 2 I bow down toward Your holy temple and give thanks to Your name for Your loving devotion and Your faithfulness; You have exalted Your name and Your word above all else. I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word. I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. I will bow down toward Your holy temple And give thanks to Your name for Your mercy and Your truth; For You have made Your word great according to all Your name. I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your unfailing love and your faithfulness, for you have so exalted your solemn decree that it surpasses your fame.
3 On the day I called, You answered me; You emboldened me and strengthened my soul. On the day I called, you answered me; my strength of soul you increased. In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, <i>and</i> strengthenedst me <i>with</i> strength in my soul. On the day I called, You answered me; You made me bold <i>with</i> strength in my soul. When I called, you answered me; you greatly emboldened me.
4 All the kings of the earth will give You thanks, O LORD, when they hear the words of Your mouth. All the kings of the earth shall give you thanks, O LORD, for they have heard the words of your mouth, All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD, when they hear the words of thy mouth. All the kings of the earth will give thanks to You, LORD, When they have heard the words of Your mouth. May all the kings of the earth praise you, LORD, when they hear what you have decreed.
5 They will sing of the ways of the LORD, for the glory of the LORD is great. and they shall sing of the ways of the LORD, for great is the glory of the LORD. Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD: for great <i>is</i> the glory of the LORD. And they will sing of the ways of the LORD, For great is the glory of the LORD. May they sing of the ways of the LORD, for the glory of the LORD is great.
6 Though the LORD is on high, He attends to the lowly; but the proud He knows from afar. For though the LORD is high, he regards the lowly, but the haughty he knows from afar. Though the LORD <i>be</i> high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off. For the LORD is exalted, Yet He looks after the lowly, But He knows the haughty from afar. Though the LORD is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly; though lofty, he sees them from afar.
7 If I walk in the midst of trouble, You preserve me from the anger of my foes; You extend Your hand, and Your right hand saves me. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will reach out with Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me.
8 The LORD will fulfill His purpose for me. O LORD, Your loving devotion endures forever— do not abandon the works of Your hands. The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands. The LORD will perfect <i>that which</i> concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, <i>endureth</i> for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands. The LORD will accomplish what concerns me; Your faithfulness, LORD, is everlasting; Do not abandon the works of Your hands. The LORD will vindicate me; your love, LORD, endures forever— do not abandon the works of your hands.
