1 A SONG OF THE ASCENTS. BY DAVID. YHWH, my heart has not been haughty, || Nor have my eyes been high, || Nor have I walked in great things, || And in things too wonderful for me. O LORD, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me. A song of ascents. Of David. My heart is not proud, LORD, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me.
2 Have I not compared, and kept my soul silent, || As a weaned one by its mother? As a weaned one by me [is] my soul. But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me. But I have calmed and quieted myself, I am like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child I am content.
3 Israel waits on YHWH, || From now on, and for all time! O Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and forevermore. Israel, put your hope in the LORD both now and forevermore.
