2 for their minds devise violence, and their lips talk of mischief. for their hearts devise violence, and their lips talk of trouble. for their hearts plot violence, and their lips talk about making trouble.
3 By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;
4 by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
5 Wise warriors are mightier than strong ones, and those who have knowledge than those who have strength; A wise man is full of strength, and a man of knowledge enhances his might, The wise prevail through great power, and those who have knowledge muster their strength.

12 if you say, “Look, we did not know this”— does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it? And will he not repay all according to their deeds? If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work? If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done?
13 My child, eat honey, for it is good, and the drippings of the honeycomb are sweet to your taste. My son, eat honey, for it is good, and the drippings of the honeycomb are sweet to your taste. Eat honey, my son, for it is good; honey from the comb is sweet to your taste.
14 Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, you will find a future, and your hope will not be cut off. 16 for though they fall seven times, they will rise again; but the wicked are overthrown by calamity. for the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity. for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.
17 Do not rejoice when your enemies fall, and do not let your heart be glad when they stumble, Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles, Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice,
18 or else the LORD will see it and be displeased, and turn away his anger from them. lest the LORD see it and be displeased, and turn away his anger from him. or the LORD will see and disapprove and turn his wrath away from them.
19 Do not fret because of evildoers. Do not envy the wicked; Fret not yourself because of evildoers, and be not envious of the wicked, Do not fret because of evildoers or be envious of the wicked,
20 for the evil have no future; the lamp of the wicked will go out. for the evil man has no future; the lamp of the wicked will be put out. for the evildoer has no future hope, and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.
21 My child, fear the LORD and the king, and do not disobey either of them; My son, fear the LORD and the king, and do not join with those who do otherwise, Fear the LORD and the king, my son, and do not join with rebellious officials,
22 for disaster comes from them suddenly, and who knows the ruin that both can bring? for disaster will arise suddenly from them, and who knows the ruin that will come from them both? for those two will send sudden destruction on them, and who knows what calamities they can bring?

24 Whoever says to the wicked, “You are innocent,” will be cursed by peoples, abhorred by nations; Whoever says to the wicked, “You are in the right,” will be cursed by peoples, abhorred by nations, Whoever says to the guilty, “You are innocent,” will be cursed by peoples and denounced by nations.
25 but those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, and a good blessing will come upon them. but those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, and a good blessing will come upon them. But it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and rich blessing will come on them.
26 One who gives an honest answer gives a kiss on the lips. Whoever gives an honest answer kisses the lips. An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.
27 Prepare your work outside, get everything ready for you in the field; and after that build your house. 30 I passed by the field of one who was lazy, by the vineyard of a stupid person; I passed by the field of a sluggard, by the vineyard of a man lacking sense, I went past the field of a sluggard, past the vineyard of someone who has no sense;
31 and see, it was all overgrown with thorns; the ground was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down. and behold, it was all overgrown with thorns; the ground was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down. thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins.
