1 AND when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalen, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought sweet spices, that coming, they might anoint Jesus. When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body.
2 And very early in the morning, the first day of the week, they come to the sepulchre, the sun being now risen. And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb
3 And they said one to another: Who shall roll us back the stone from the door of the sepulchre? And they were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”
4 And looking, they saw the stone rolled back. For it was very great. And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back—it was very large. But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.
5 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed with a white robe: and they were astonished. And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed. As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
6 Who saith to them: Be not affrighted; you seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified: he is risen, he is not here, behold the place where they laid him. And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.
7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee; there you shall see him, as he told you. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.” But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’”
8 But they going out, fled from the sepulchre. For a trembling and fear had seized them: and they said nothing to any man; for they were afraid. And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them, and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid. Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.
9 But he rising early the first day of the week, appeared first to Mary Magdalen, out of whom he had cast seven devils. [[Now when he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons. 10 She went and told them that had been with him, who were mourning and weeping. She went and told those who had been with him, as they mourned and wept. She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping.
11 And they hearing that he was alive, and had been seen by her, did not believe. But when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they would not believe it. When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.
12 And after that he appeared in another shape to two of them walking, as they were going into the country. After these things he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking into the country. Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country.
13 And they going told it to the rest: neither did they believe them. And they went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them. These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either.
14 At length he appeared to the eleven as they were at table: and he upbraided them with their incredulity and hardness of heart, because they did not believe them who had seen him after he was risen again. Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen. Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.
15 And he said to them: Go ye into the whole world, and preach the gospel to every creature. And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
16 He that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall be condemned. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name they shall cast out devils: they shall speak with new tongues. And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they shall drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them: they shall lay their hands upon the sick, and they shall recover. they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
19 And the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God. So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.
20 But they going forth preached every where: the Lord working withal, and confirming the word with signs that followed.
