2 Ἑκατοντάρχου δέ τινος δοῦλος κακῶς ἔχων ἤμελλεν τελευτᾶν ὃς ἦν αὐτῷ ἔντιμος Now a centurion had a servant who was sick and at the point of death, who was highly valued by him. There a centurion’s servant, whom his master valued highly, was sick and about to die.
3 ἀκούσας δὲ περὶ τοῦ Ἰησοῦ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς αὐτὸν πρεσβυτέρους τῶν Ἰουδαίων ἐρωτῶν αὐτὸν ὅπως ἐλθὼν διασώσῃ τὸν δοῦλον αὐτοῦ When the centurion heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, asking him to come and heal his servant. The centurion heard of Jesus and sent some elders of the Jews to him, asking him to come and heal his servant.
