2 צַ֞ו אֶת־ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל וְיִקְח֨וּ אֵלֶ֜יךָ שֶׁ֣מֶן זַ֥יִת זָ֛ךְ כָּתִ֖ית לַמָּא֑וֹר לְהַעֲלֹ֥ת נֵ֖ר תָּמִֽיד׃ “Command the people of Israel to bring you pure oil from beaten olives for the lamp, that a light may be kept burning regularly. “Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning continually.
Outside the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, Aaron shall arrange it from evening to morning before the LORD regularly. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations. Outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law in the tent of meeting, Aaron is to tend the lamps before the LORD from evening till morning, continually. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come.
He shall arrange the lamps on the lampstand of pure gold before the LORD regularly. The lamps on the pure gold lampstand before the LORD must be tended continually.
