1 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, The LORD said to Moses,
2 “Command the sons of Israel that they bring to you clear oil from beaten olives for the light, to make a lamp burn continually. “Command the people of Israel to bring you pure oil from beaten olives for the lamp, that a light may be kept burning regularly. “Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning continually.
3 Outside the veil of testimony in the tent of meeting, Aaron shall keep it in order from evening to morning before Yahweh continually; it shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations. Outside the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, Aaron shall arrange it from evening to morning before the LORD regularly. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations. Outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law in the tent of meeting, Aaron is to tend the lamps before the LORD from evening till morning, continually. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come.
4 He shall keep the lamps in order on the pure gold lampstand before Yahweh continually. He shall arrange the lamps on the lampstand of pure gold before the LORD regularly. The lamps on the pure gold lampstand before the LORD must be tended continually.
5 “Then you shall take fine flour and bake twelve cakes with it; two-tenths of an ephah shall be in each cake. “You shall take fine flour and bake twelve loaves from it; two tenths of an ephah shall be in each loaf. “Take the finest flour and bake twelve loaves of bread, using two-tenths of an ephah for each loaf.
6 And you shall set them in two rows, six to a row, on the pure gold table before Yahweh. And you shall set them in two piles, six in a pile, on the table of pure gold before the LORD. Arrange them in two stacks, six in each stack, on the table of pure gold before the LORD.
7 And you shall put pure frankincense on each row that it may be a memorial portion for the bread, even an offering by fire to Yahweh. And you shall put pure frankincense on each pile, that it may go with the bread as a memorial portion as a food offering to the LORD. By each stack put some pure incense as a memorial portion to represent the bread and to be a food offering presented to the LORD.
8 Every sabbath day he shall set it in order before Yahweh continually; it is an everlasting covenant for the sons of Israel. Every Sabbath day Aaron shall arrange it before the LORD regularly; it is from the people of Israel as a covenant forever. This bread is to be set out before the LORD regularly, Sabbath after Sabbath, on behalf of the Israelites, as a lasting covenant.
9 And it shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place; for it is most holy to him from the offerings to Yahweh by fire, his portion forever.” And it shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place, since it is for him a most holy portion out of the LORD’s food offerings, a perpetual due.” It belongs to Aaron and his sons, who are to eat it in the sanctuary area, because it is a most holy part of their perpetual share of the food offerings presented to the LORD.”
10 Now the son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the sons of Israel; and the Israelite woman’s son and a man of Israel struggled with each other in the camp. Now an Israelite woman’s son, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the people of Israel. And the Israelite woman’s son and a man of Israel fought in the camp, Now the son of an Israelite mother and an Egyptian father went out among the Israelites, and a fight broke out in the camp between him and an Israelite.
11 And the son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name and cursed. So they brought him to Moses. (Now his mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.) and the Israelite woman’s son blasphemed the Name, and cursed. Then they brought him to Moses. His mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan. The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name with a curse; so they brought him to Moses. (His mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri the Danite.)
12 And they put him in custody so that the command of Yahweh might be made clear to them. And they put him in custody, till the will of the LORD should be clear to them. They put him in custody until the will of the LORD should be made clear to them.
13 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, Then the LORD said to Moses:
14 “Bring the one who has cursed outside the camp, and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head; then let all the congregation stone him. “Bring out of the camp the one who cursed, and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head, and let all the congregation stone him. “Take the blasphemer outside the camp. All those who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the entire assembly is to stone him.
15 And you shall speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘If anyone curses his God, then he will bear his sin. And speak to the people of Israel, saying, Whoever curses his God shall bear his sin. Say to the Israelites: ‘Anyone who curses their God will be held responsible;
16 Moreover, the one who blasphemes the name of Yahweh shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him. The sojourner as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death. Whoever blasphemes the name of the LORD shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall stone him. The sojourner as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death. anyone who blasphemes the name of the LORD is to be put to death. The entire assembly must stone them. Whether foreigner or native-born, when they blaspheme the Name they are to be put to death.
17 ‘If a man strikes down the life of any human being, he shall surely be put to death. “Whoever takes a human life shall surely be put to death. “’Anyone who takes the life of a human being is to be put to death.
18 And the one who strikes down the life of an animal shall make restitution for it, life for life. Whoever takes an animal’s life shall make it good, life for life. Anyone who takes the life of someone’s animal must make restitution—life for life.
19 If a man injures his neighbor, just as he has done, so it shall be done to him: If anyone injures his neighbor, as he has done it shall be done to him, Anyone who injures their neighbor is to be injured in the same manner:
20 fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; just as he has injured a man, so it shall be inflicted on him. fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; whatever injury he has given a person shall be given to him. fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. The one who has inflicted the injury must suffer the same injury.
21 Thus the one who strikes down an animal shall make restitution for it, but the one who strikes down a man shall be put to death. Whoever kills an animal shall make it good, and whoever kills a person shall be put to death. Whoever kills an animal must make restitution, but whoever kills a human being is to be put to death.
22 There shall be one standard of judgment for you; it shall be for the sojourner as well as the native, for I am Yahweh your God.’” You shall have the same rule for the sojourner and for the native, for I am the LORD your God.” You are to have the same law for the foreigner and the native-born. I am the LORD your God.’”
23 Then Moses spoke to the sons of Israel, and they brought the one who had cursed outside the camp and stoned him with stones. Thus the sons of Israel did, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses. So Moses spoke to the people of Israel, and they brought out of the camp the one who had cursed and stoned him with stones. Thus the people of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses. Then Moses spoke to the Israelites, and they took the blasphemer outside the camp and stoned him. The Israelites did as the LORD commanded Moses.
