1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, The LORD said to Moses,
2 Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee the finest and dearest oil of olives, to furnish the lamps continually, “Command the people of Israel to bring you pure oil from beaten olives for the lamp, that a light may be kept burning regularly. “Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning continually.
3 Without the veil of the testimony in the tabernacle of the covenant. And Aaron shall set them from evening until morning before the Lord, by a perpetual service and rite in your generations. Outside the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, Aaron shall arrange it from evening to morning before the LORD regularly. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations. Outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law in the tent of meeting, Aaron is to tend the lamps before the LORD from evening till morning, continually. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come.
4 They shall be set upon the most pure candlestick before the Lord continually. He shall arrange the lamps on the lampstand of pure gold before the LORD regularly. The lamps on the pure gold lampstand before the LORD must be tended continually.
5 Thou shalt take also fine hour, and shalt bake twelve leaves thereof, two tenths shall be in every loaf : “You shall take fine flour and bake twelve loaves from it; two tenths of an ephah shall be in each loaf. “Take the finest flour and bake twelve loaves of bread, using two-tenths of an ephah for each loaf.
6 And thou shalt set them six and six one against another upon the most clean table before the Lord: And you shall set them in two piles, six in a pile, on the table of pure gold before the LORD. Arrange them in two stacks, six in each stack, on the table of pure gold before the LORD.
7 And thou shalt put upon them the dearest frankincense, that the bread may be for a memorial of the oblation of the Lord. And you shall put pure frankincense on each pile, that it may go with the bread as a memorial portion as a food offering to the LORD. By each stack put some pure incense as a memorial portion to represent the bread and to be a food offering presented to the LORD.
8 Every sabbath they shall be changed before the Lord, being received of the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant: Every Sabbath day Aaron shall arrange it before the LORD regularly; it is from the people of Israel as a covenant forever. This bread is to be set out before the LORD regularly, Sabbath after Sabbath, on behalf of the Israelites, as a lasting covenant.
9 And they shall be Aaron's and his sons', that they may eat them in the holy place: because it is most holy of the sacrifices of the Lord by a perpetual right. And it shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place, since it is for him a most holy portion out of the LORD’s food offerings, a perpetual due.” It belongs to Aaron and his sons, who are to eat it in the sanctuary area, because it is a most holy part of their perpetual share of the food offerings presented to the LORD.”
10 And behold there went out the son of a woman of Israel, whom she had of an Egyptian, among the children of Israel, and fell at words in the camp with a man of Israel. Now an Israelite woman’s son, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the people of Israel. And the Israelite woman’s son and a man of Israel fought in the camp, Now the son of an Israelite mother and an Egyptian father went out among the Israelites, and a fight broke out in the camp between him and an Israelite.
11 And when he had blasphemed the name, and had cursed it, he was brought to Moses: (now his mother was called Salumith, the daughter of Dabri, of the tribe of Dan:) and the Israelite woman’s son blasphemed the Name, and cursed. Then they brought him to Moses. His mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan. The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name with a curse; so they brought him to Moses. (His mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri the Danite.)
12 And they put him into prison, till they might know what the Lord would command. And they put him in custody, till the will of the LORD should be clear to them. They put him in custody until the will of the LORD should be made clear to them.
13 And the Lord spoke to Moses, Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, Then the LORD said to Moses:
14 Saying: Bring forth the blasphemer without the camp, and let them that heard him, put their hands upon his head, and let all the people stone him. “Bring out of the camp the one who cursed, and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head, and let all the congregation stone him. “Take the blasphemer outside the camp. All those who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the entire assembly is to stone him.
15 And thou shalt speak to the children of Israel: the man that curseth his God, shall bear his sin: And speak to the people of Israel, saying, Whoever curses his God shall bear his sin. Say to the Israelites: ‘Anyone who curses their God will be held responsible;
16 And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, dying let him die: all the multitude shall stone him, whether he be a native or a stranger. He that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, dying let him die. Whoever blasphemes the name of the LORD shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall stone him. The sojourner as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death. anyone who blasphemes the name of the LORD is to be put to death. The entire assembly must stone them. Whether foreigner or native-born, when they blaspheme the Name they are to be put to death.
17 He that striketh and killeth a man, dying let him die. “Whoever takes a human life shall surely be put to death. “’Anyone who takes the life of a human being is to be put to death.
18 He that killeth a beast, shall make it good, that is to say, shall give beast for beast. Whoever takes an animal’s life shall make it good, life for life. Anyone who takes the life of someone’s animal must make restitution—life for life.
19 He that giveth a blemish to any of his neighbours: as he hath done, so shall it be done to him: If anyone injures his neighbor, as he has done it shall be done to him, Anyone who injures their neighbor is to be injured in the same manner:
20 Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, shall he restore. What blemish he gave, the like shall he be compelled to suffer. fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; whatever injury he has given a person shall be given to him. fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. The one who has inflicted the injury must suffer the same injury.
21 He that striketh a beast, shall render another. He that striketh a man shall be punished. Whoever kills an animal shall make it good, and whoever kills a person shall be put to death. Whoever kills an animal must make restitution, but whoever kills a human being is to be put to death.
22 Let there be equal judgment among you, whether he be a stranger, or a native that offends: because I am the Lord your God. You shall have the same rule for the sojourner and for the native, for I am the LORD your God.” You are to have the same law for the foreigner and the native-born. I am the LORD your God.’”
23 And Moses spoke to the children of Israel: and they brought forth him that had blasphemed, without the camp, and they stoned him. And the children of Israel did as the Lord had commanded Moses. So Moses spoke to the people of Israel, and they brought out of the camp the one who had cursed and stoned him with stones. Thus the people of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses. Then Moses spoke to the Israelites, and they took the blasphemer outside the camp and stoned him. The Israelites did as the LORD commanded Moses.
