1 This is an account of the births of Adam: In the day of God's preparing man, in the likeness of God He hath made him; This is the book of the generations of Adam. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. This is the written account of Adam’s family line. When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God.
2 a male and a female He hath prepared them, and He blesseth them, and calleth their name Man, in the day of their being prepared. Male and female he created them, and he blessed them and named them Man when they were created. He created them male and female and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind” when they were created.
3 And Adam liveth an hundred and thirty years, and begetteth a son in his likeness, according to his image, and calleth his name Seth. When Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth. When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth.
4 And the days of Adam after his begetting Seth are eight hundred years, and he begetteth sons and daughters. The days of Adam after he fathered Seth were 800 years; and he had other sons and daughters. After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.
5 And all the days of Adam which he lived are nine hundred and thirty years, and he dieth. Thus all the days that Adam lived were 930 years, and he died. Altogether, Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died.
6 And Seth liveth an hundred and five years, and begetteth Enos. When Seth had lived 105 years, he fathered Enosh. When Seth had lived 105 years, he became the father of Enosh.
7 And Seth liveth after his begetting Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begetteth sons and daughters. Seth lived after he fathered Enosh 807 years and had other sons and daughters. After he became the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters.
8 And all the days of Seth are nine hundred and twelve years, and he dieth. Thus all the days of Seth were 912 years, and he died. Altogether, Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then he died.
9 And Enos liveth ninety years, and begetteth Cainan. When Enosh had lived 90 years, he fathered Kenan. When Enosh had lived 90 years, he became the father of Kenan.
10 And Enos liveth after his begetting Cainan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begetteth sons and daughters. Enosh lived after he fathered Kenan 815 years and had other sons and daughters. After he became the father of Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years and had other sons and daughters.
11 And all the days of Enos are nine hundred and five years, and he dieth. Thus all the days of Enosh were 905 years, and he died. Altogether, Enosh lived a total of 905 years, and then he died.
12 And Cainan liveth seventy years, and begetteth Mahalaleel. When Kenan had lived 70 years, he fathered Mahalalel. When Kenan had lived 70 years, he became the father of Mahalalel.
13 And Cainan liveth after his begetting Mahalaleel eight hundred and forty years, and begetteth sons and daughters. Kenan lived after he fathered Mahalalel 840 years and had other sons and daughters. After he became the father of Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years and had other sons and daughters.
14 And all the days of Cainan are nine hundred and ten years, and he dieth. Thus all the days of Kenan were 910 years, and he died. Altogether, Kenan lived a total of 910 years, and then he died.
15 And Mahalaleel liveth five and sixty years, and begetteth Jared. When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he fathered Jared. When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he became the father of Jared.
16 And Mahalaleel liveth after his begetting Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begetteth sons and daughters. Mahalalel lived after he fathered Jared 830 years and had other sons and daughters. After he became the father of Jared, Mahalalel lived 830 years and had other sons and daughters.
17 And all the days of Mahalaleel are eight hundred and ninety and five years, and he dieth. Thus all the days of Mahalalel were 895 years, and he died. Altogether, Mahalalel lived a total of 895 years, and then he died.
18 And Jared liveth an hundred and sixty and two years, and begetteth Enoch. When Jared had lived 162 years, he fathered Enoch. When Jared had lived 162 years, he became the father of Enoch.
19 And Jared liveth after his begetting Enoch eight hundred years, and begetteth sons and daughters. Jared lived after he fathered Enoch 800 years and had other sons and daughters. After he became the father of Enoch, Jared lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.
20 And all the days of Jared are nine hundred and sixty and two years, and he dieth. Thus all the days of Jared were 962 years, and he died. Altogether, Jared lived a total of 962 years, and then he died.
21 And Enoch liveth five and sixty years, and begetteth Methuselah. When Enoch had lived 65 years, he fathered Methuselah. When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah.
22 And Enoch walketh habitually with God after his begetting Methuselah three hundred years, and begetteth sons and daughters. Enoch walked with God after he fathered Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters. After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters.
23 And all the days of Enoch are three hundred and sixty and five years. Thus all the days of Enoch were 365 years. Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years.
24 And Enoch walketh habitually with God, and he is not, for God hath taken him. Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him. Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.
25 And Methuselah liveth an hundred and eighty and seven years, and begetteth Lamech. When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he fathered Lamech. When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he became the father of Lamech.
26 And Methuselah liveth after his begetting Lamech seven hundred and eighty and two years, and begetteth sons and daughters. Methuselah lived after he fathered Lamech 782 years and had other sons and daughters. After he became the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived 782 years and had other sons and daughters.
27 And all the days of Methuselah are nine hundred and sixty and nine years, and he dieth. Thus all the days of Methuselah were 969 years, and he died. Altogether, Methuselah lived a total of 969 years, and then he died.
28 And Lamech liveth an hundred and eighty and two years, and begetteth a son, When Lamech had lived 182 years, he fathered a son When Lamech had lived 182 years, he had a son.
29 and calleth his name Noah, saying, 'This one doth comfort us concerning our work, and concerning the labour of our hands, because of the ground which Jehovah hath cursed.' and called his name Noah, saying, “Out of the ground that the LORD has cursed, this one shall bring us relief from our work and from the painful toil of our hands.” He named him Noah and said, “He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the LORD has cursed.”
30 And Lamech liveth after his begetting Noah five hundred and ninety and five years, and begetteth sons and daughters. Lamech lived after he fathered Noah 595 years and had other sons and daughters. After Noah was born, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters.
31 And all the days of Lamech are seven hundred and seventy and seven years, and he dieth. Thus all the days of Lamech were 777 years, and he died. Altogether, Lamech lived a total of 777 years, and then he died.
32 And Noah is a son of five hundred years, and Noah begetteth Shem, Ham, and Japheth. After Noah was 500 years old, Noah fathered Shem, Ham, and Japheth. After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth.
