3 May grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, be yours! Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,
4 He gave himself for our sins in order to rescue us from this present evil age according to the will of our God and Father. who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,
5 To him be the glory forever and ever! Amen. to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of the Messiah and, instead, are following a different gospel, I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—
7 not that another one really exists. To be sure, there are certain people who are troubling you and want to distort the gospel about the Messiah. not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should proclaim to you a gospel contrary to what we proclaimed to you, let that person be condemned! But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!
9 What we have told you in the past I am now telling you again: If anyone proclaims to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let that person be condemned! As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!
10 Am I now trying to win the approval of people or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be the Messiah's servant. For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
11 For I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel that was proclaimed by me is not of human origin. For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man’s gospel. I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin.
12 For I did not receive it from a man, nor was I taught it, but it was revealed to me by Jesus the Messiah. For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.
13 For you have heard about my earlier life in Judaism—how I kept violently persecuting God's church and was trying to destroy it. For you have heard of my former life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God violently and tried to destroy it. For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it.
14 I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries, because I was far more zealous for the traditions of my ancestors. And I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people, so extremely zealous was I for the traditions of my fathers. 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before me. Instead, I went away to Arabia and then came back to Damascus. nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus. I did not go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went into Arabia. Later I returned to Damascus.
18 Then three years later, I went up to Jerusalem to become acquainted with Cephas, and I stayed with him for fifteen days. Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas and remained with him fifteen days. 19 But I did not see any other apostle except James, the Lord's brother. But I saw none of the other apostles except James the Lord’s brother. I saw none of the other apostles—only James, the Lord’s brother.
20 (Before God, what I'm writing to you is the truth.) (In what I am writing to you, before God, I do not lie!) I assure you before God that what I am writing you is no lie.
21 Then I went to the regions of Syria and Cilicia. Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia. Then I went to Syria and Cilicia.
22 But the churches of the Messiah that are in Judea did not yet know me personally. And I was still unknown in person to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. I was personally unknown to the churches of Judea that are in Christ.
23 The only thing they kept hearing was this: |The man who used to persecute us is now proclaiming the faith he once tried to destroy!| They only were hearing it said, “He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” They only heard the report: “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.”
24 So they kept glorifying God for what had happened to me. And they glorified God because of me. And they praised God because of me.
