1 Paul, apostle, not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ, and God [the] Father who raised him from among [the] dead, Paul, an apostle—not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead— Paul, an apostle—sent not from men nor by a man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead—
2 and all the brethren with me, to the assemblies of Galatia. and all the brothers who are with me, To the churches of Galatia: and all the brothers and sisters with me, To the churches in Galatia:
3 Grace to you, and peace, from God [the] Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,
4 who gave himself for our sins, so that he should deliver us out of the present evil world, according to the will of our God and Father; who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,
5 to whom [be] glory to the ages of ages. Amen. to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
6 I wonder that ye thus quickly change, from him that called you in Christ's grace, to a different gospel, I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—
7 which is not another [one]; but there are some that trouble you, and desire to pervert the glad tidings of the Christ. not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But if even we or an angel out of heaven announce as glad tidings to you [anything] besides what we have announced as glad tidings to you, let him be accursed. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!
9 As we have said before, now also again I say, If any one announce to you as glad tidings [anything] besides what ye have received, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!
10 For do I now seek to satisfy men or God? or do I seek to please men? If I were yet pleasing men, I were not Christ's bondman. For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
11 But I let you know, brethren, [as to] the glad tidings which were announced by me, that they are not according to man. For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man’s gospel. I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin.
12 For neither did I receive them from man, neither was I taught [them], but by revelation of Jesus Christ. For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.
13 For ye have heard [what was] my conversation formerly in Judaism, that I excessively persecuted the assembly of God, and ravaged it; For you have heard of my former life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God violently and tried to destroy it. For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it.
14 and advanced in Judaism beyond many [my] contemporaries in my nation, being exceedingly zealous of the doctrines of my fathers. And I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people, so extremely zealous was I for the traditions of my fathers. I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers.
15 But when God, who set me apart [even] from my mother's womb, and called [me] by his grace, But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace, But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace, was pleased
16 was pleased to reveal his Son in me, that I may announce him as glad tidings among the nations, immediately I took not counsel with flesh and blood, was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone; to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being.
17 nor went I up to Jerusalem to those [who were] apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and again returned to Damascus. nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus. I did not go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went into Arabia. Later I returned to Damascus.
18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to make acquaintance with Peter, and I remained with him fifteen days; Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas and remained with him fifteen days. Then after three years, I went up to Jerusalem to get acquainted with Cephas and stayed with him fifteen days.
19 but I saw none other of the apostles, but James the brother of the Lord. But I saw none of the other apostles except James the Lord’s brother. I saw none of the other apostles—only James, the Lord’s brother.
20 Now what I write to you, behold, before God, I do not lie. (In what I am writing to you, before God, I do not lie!) I assure you before God that what I am writing you is no lie.
21 Then I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia. Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia. Then I went to Syria and Cilicia.
22 But I was unknown personally to the assemblies of Judaea which [are] in Christ; And I was still unknown in person to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. I was personally unknown to the churches of Judea that are in Christ.
23 only they were hearing that he who persecuted us formerly now announces the glad tidings of the faith which formerly he ravaged: They only were hearing it said, “He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” They only heard the report: “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.”
24 and they glorified God in me. And they glorified God because of me. And they praised God because of me.
