2 and all the brothers with me, To the churches of Galatia: and all the brothers who are with me, To the churches of Galatia: and all the brothers and sisters with me, To the churches in Galatia:
3 Grace to you⁺ and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,
4 the One having given Himself for our sins so that He might rescue us out of the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,
5 to whom be the glory to the ages of the ages. Amen. to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
6 I marvel that so quickly you⁺ are deserting from the One having called you⁺ in the grace of Christ to another gospel, I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—
7 which is not another, except there are some who are troubling you⁺ and are wanting to pervert the gospel of Christ. not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But even if we or an angel out of heaven should preach a gospel to you⁺ contrary to what we preached to you⁺, let him be accursed! But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!
9 As we have said before, even now I say again: If anyone preaches a gospel to you⁺ contrary to what you⁺ received, let him be accursed! As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!
10 For presently do I appease men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? If I were still pleasing men, I would not be a servant of Christ. For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
11 For I make known to you⁺, brothers, the gospel having been preached by me, that it is not according to man. For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man’s gospel. I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin.
12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but through a revelation of Jesus Christ. For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.
13 For you⁺ heard of my conduct formerly in Judaism, that according to excess I was persecuting the church of God and was ravaging it. For you have heard of my former life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God violently and tried to destroy it. For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it.
14 And I was advancing in Judaism beyond many contemporaries among my kindred, being more abundantly zealous for the traditions of my fathers. And I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people, so extremely zealous was I for the traditions of my fathers. I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers.
15 But when God was well pleased—the One having set me apart from the womb of my mother and having called me by His grace— But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace, But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace, was pleased
16 to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I conferred not immediately with flesh and blood, was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone; to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being.
17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to the apostles before me, but I went away to Arabia and returned again to Damascus. nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus. I did not go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went into Arabia. Later I returned to Damascus.
18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to make acquaintance with Cephas, and I remained with him fifteen days. Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas and remained with him fifteen days. Then after three years, I went up to Jerusalem to get acquainted with Cephas and stayed with him fifteen days.
19 But I did not see any of the other apostles except James, the brother of the Lord. But I saw none of the other apostles except James the Lord’s brother. I saw none of the other apostles—only James, the Lord’s brother.
20 Now the things I write to you⁺, behold before God that I do not lie. (In what I am writing to you, before God, I do not lie!) I assure you before God that what I am writing you is no lie.
21 Then I went to the regions of Syria and Cilicia. Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia. Then I went to Syria and Cilicia.
22 But I was unknown by face to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. And I was still unknown in person to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. I was personally unknown to the churches of Judea that are in Christ.
23 But they were only hearing that “the one formerly persecuting us now preaches the faith that formerly he was ravaging.” They only were hearing it said, “He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” They only heard the report: “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.”
24 And they were glorifying God in me. And they glorified God because of me. And they praised God because of me.
