1 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins And you were dead in the trespasses and sins As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,
2 in which you previously walked according to the ways of this world, according to the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit now working in the disobedient. in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
3 We too all previously lived among them in our fleshly desires, carrying out the inclinations of our flesh and thoughts, and we were by nature children under wrath as the others were also. among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of his great love that he had for us, But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,
5 made us alive with Christ even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace! even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
6 He also raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavens in Christ Jesus, and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

8 For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift— For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
9 not from works, so that no one can boast. not a result of works, so that no one may boast. not by works, so that no one can boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
11 So, then, remember that at one time you were Gentiles in the flesh—called “the uncircumcised” by those called “the circumcised,” which is done in the flesh by human hands. Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called “the uncircumcision” by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands— Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)—
12 At that time you were without Christ, excluded from the citizenship of Israel, and foreigners to the covenants of promise, without hope and without God in the world. remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.

14 For he is our peace, who made both groups one and tore down the dividing wall of hostility. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace,
16 He did this so that he might reconcile both to God in one body through the cross by which he put the hostility to death. and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.
17 He came and proclaimed the good news of peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.
