And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: AND EVEN ON MY MALE AND FEMALE SERVANTS I WILL POUR OUT MY SPIRIT IN THOSE DAYS, And they will prophesy. 19 I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. 21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’ And it shall come to pass, <i>that</i> whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. ‘AND IT SHALL BE <i>THAT</i> EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.’ And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’
22 Men of Israel, listen to this message: Jesus of Nazareth was a man certified by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs, which God did among you through Him, as you yourselves know. “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: “Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a Man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know— “Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.
23 He was delivered up by God’s set plan and foreknowledge, and you, by the hands of the lawless, put Him to death by nailing Him to the cross. this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: this <i>Man,</i> delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put <i>Him</i> to death. This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.
24 But God raised Him from the dead, releasing Him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for Him to be held in its clutches. God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it. But God raised Him <i>from the dead,</i> putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power. But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.
25 David says about Him: ‘I saw the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. For David says concerning him, “‘I saw the Lord always before me, for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken; For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: For David says of Him, ‘I SAW THE LORD CONTINUALLY BEFORE ME, BECAUSE HE IS AT MY RIGHT HAND, SO THAT I WILL NOT BE SHAKEN. David said about him: “’I saw the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
26 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will dwell in hope, therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; my flesh also will dwell in hope. Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: ‘THEREFORE MY HEART WAS GLAD AND MY TONGUE WAS OVERJOYED; MOREOVER MY FLESH ALSO WILL LIVE IN HOPE; Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest in hope,
27 because You will not abandon my soul to Hades, nor will You let Your Holy One see decay. For you will not abandon my soul to Hades, or let your Holy One see corruption. Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. FOR YOU WILL NOT ABANDON MY SOUL TO HADES, NOR WILL YOU ALLOW YOUR HOLY ONE TO UNDERGO DECAY. because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, you will not let your holy one see decay.
28 You have made known to me the paths of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence.’ You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’ Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. ‘YOU HAVE MADE KNOWN TO ME THE WAYS OF LIFE; YOU WILL MAKE ME FULL OF GLADNESS WITH YOUR PRESENCE.’ You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.’
29 Brothers, I can tell you with confidence that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. “Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30 But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that He would place one of his descendants on his throne. 33 Exalted, then, to the right hand of God, He has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. Therefore, since He has been exalted at the right hand of God, and has received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, He has poured out this which you both see and hear. 35 until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.” ’ until I make your enemies your footstool.”’ Until I make thy foes thy footstool. UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET.”’ until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.|’
36 Therefore let all Israel know with certainty that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ! 37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and asked Peter and the other apostles, “ Brothers, what shall we do? Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” Now when they heard <i>this</i>, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men <i>and</i> brethren, what shall we do? 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Peter <i>said</i> to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 This promise belongs to you and your children and to all who are far off— to all whom the Lord our God will call to Himself. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, <i>even</i> as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40 With many other words he testified, and he urged them, “Be saved from this corrupt generation. And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on urging them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!” With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”
41 Those who embraced his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to the believers that day. So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added <i>unto them</i> about three thousand souls. So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. praising God and having favor with all the people.
