2 To Ti-mo’the-us, a dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Jesus Christ our LORD. 3 I thank God, whom I have served from boyhood with a pure conscience, that I have always remembered you in my prayers night and day. 5 Especially when I am reminded of your true faith, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice; and I am sure now in you also. 8 Be not, therefore, ashamed of the testimony of our LORD, nor of me his prisoner; but bear the hardships that go along with the preaching of the gospel through the power of God; Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God.
9 Who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own will and his grace, which was given us in Jesus Christ before the world began, who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,
10 And is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who has abolished death, and has revealed life and immortality through the gospel; and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
11 To which I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. for which I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher, And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher.
12 For this cause I suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have trusted, and I am sure he will take care of me until that day. which is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me. That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.
13 Let these bright and sound words which you have heard from me abide with you in the faith and love which is in Jesus Christ. Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.
14 That good thing which was committed to you keep by the help of the Holy Spirit which dwells in us. By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you. Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.
15 This you know: that all those in Asia Minor have turned away from me; of whom are Phy-gel’lus and Her-mog'e-nes. You are aware that all who are in Asia turned away from me, among whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes. You know that everyone in the province of Asia has deserted me, including Phygelus and Hermogenes.
16 Let our LORD grant mercy to the house of On-e-siph’o-rus; for he has often refreshed me, and he was not ashamed of the chains of my imprisonment: May the Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains, May the Lord show mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains.
17 But when he was in Rome, he searched for me diligently, and found me. but when he arrived in Rome he searched for me earnestly and found me— On the contrary, when he was in Rome, he searched hard for me until he found me.
18 Let our LORD grant to him, that he may find mercy in heaven, where our LORD is, in that day: and of how he ministered to me at Eph'e-sus, you know very well. may the Lord grant him to find mercy from the Lord on that day!—and you well know all the service he rendered at Ephesus. May the Lord grant that he will find mercy from the Lord on that day! You know very well in how many ways he helped me in Ephesus.
