Galatians 6
NLT Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
New Living TranslationNew International Version
Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.1Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.
Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.2Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.3If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves.
Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.4Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else,
For we are each responsible for our own conduct.5for each one should carry their own load.
Those who are taught the word of God should provide for their teachers, sharing all good things with them.6Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor.
Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.7Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.8Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. Paul’s Final Advice10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Notice what large letters I use as I write these closing words in my own handwriting.11See what large letters I use as I write to you with my own hand!
Those who are trying to force you to be circumcised want to look good to others. They don’t want to be persecuted for teaching that the cross of Christ alone can save.12Those who want to impress people by means of the flesh are trying to compel you to be circumcised. The only reason they do this is to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ.
And even those who advocate circumcision don’t keep the whole law themselves. They only want you to be circumcised so they can boast about it and claim you as their disciples.13Not even those who are circumcised keep the law, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast about your circumcision in the flesh.
As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died.14May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
It doesn’t matter whether we have been circumcised or not. What counts is whether we have been transformed into a new creation.15Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is the new creation.
May God’s peace and mercy be upon all who live by this principle; they are the new people of God.16Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule--to the Israel of God.
From now on, don’t let anyone trouble me with these things. For I bear on my body the scars that show I belong to Jesus.17From now on, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.
Dear brothers and sisters, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers and sisters. Amen.
