Psalm 52
NLT Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationKing James Bible
1Why do you boast about your crimes, great warrior? Don’t you realize God’s justice continues forever?1To the chief Musician, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech. Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.
2All day long you plot destruction. Your tongue cuts like a sharp razor; you’re an expert at telling lies.2Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp rasor, working deceitfully.
3You love evil more than good and lies more than truth. Interlude3Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.
4You love to destroy others with your words, you liar!4Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.
5But God will strike you down once and for all. He will pull you from your home and uproot you from the land of the living. Interlude5God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.
6The righteous will see it and be amazed. They will laugh and say,6The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:
7“Look what happens to mighty warriors who do not trust in God. They trust their wealth instead and grow more and more bold in their wickedness.”7Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.
8But I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God. I will always trust in God’s unfailing love.8But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
9I will praise you forever, O God, for what you have done. I will trust in your good name in the presence of your faithful people.9I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.
