NKJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew Living Translation
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The king shall have joy in Your strength, O LORD; And in Your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!1How the king rejoices in your strength, O LORD! He shouts with joy because you give him victory.
You have given him his heart’s desire, And have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah2For you have given him his heart’s desire; you have withheld nothing he requested. Interlude
For You meet him with the blessings of goodness; You set a crown of pure gold upon his head.3You welcomed him back with success and prosperity. You placed a crown of finest gold on his head.
He asked life from You, and You gave it to him— Length of days forever and ever.4He asked you to preserve his life, and you granted his request. The days of his life stretch on forever.
His glory is great in Your salvation; Honor and majesty You have placed upon him.5Your victory brings him great honor, and you have clothed him with splendor and majesty.
For You have made him most blessed forever; You have made him exceedingly glad with Your presence.6You have endowed him with eternal blessings and given him the joy of your presence.
For the king trusts in the LORD, And through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be moved.7For the king trusts in the LORD. The unfailing love of the Most High will keep him from stumbling.
Your hand will find all Your enemies; Your right hand will find those who hate You.8You will capture all your enemies. Your strong right hand will seize all who hate you.
You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of Your anger; The LORD shall swallow them up in His wrath, And the fire shall devour them.9You will throw them in a flaming furnace when you appear. The LORD will consume them in his anger; fire will devour them.
Their offspring You shall destroy from the earth, And their descendants from among the sons of men.10You will wipe their children from the face of the earth; they will never have descendants.
For they intended evil against You; They devised a plot which they are not able to perform.11Although they plot against you, their evil schemes will never succeed.
Therefore You will make them turn their back; You will make ready Your arrows on Your string toward their faces.12For they will turn and run when they see your arrows aimed at them.
Be exalted, O LORD, in Your own strength! We will sing and praise Your power.13Rise up, O LORD, in all your power. With music and singing we celebrate your mighty acts.
