A Psalm of David when he pretended madness before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. | 1Of David. When he pretended to be insane before Abimelek, who drove him away, and he left. I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. |
My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. | 2I will glory in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. |
Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together. | 3Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together. |
I sought the LORD, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. | 4I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. |
They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed. | 5Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. |
This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. | 6This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. |
The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them. | 7The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. |
Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! | 8Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. |
Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. | 9Fear the LORD, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. |
The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing. | 10The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. |
Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. | 11Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. |
Who is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good? | 12Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, |
Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit. | 13keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. |
Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. | 14Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. |
The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry. | 15The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry; |
The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. | 16but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth. |
The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles. | 17The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. |
The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit. | 18The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. |
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all. | 19The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; |
He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken. | 20he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken. |
Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned. | 21Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned. |
The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned. | 22The LORD will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. |
